Lullaby

Dress: ASOS | Necklace : H&M | Shoes : Peacocks

If the backdrop to these photos looks a little more exotic than what you'd expect from the average Surrey garden, then that's because these photos were not taken in my Surrey garden. Two and a half thousand miles in a south-eastern direction and you're in the right neighbourhood. I spent the last week on holiday with my boyfriend in Dalyan, Turkey - and yes, it was completely lush. The grueling final weeks of my degree immediately followed by taking on a load of extra hours at work meant a holiday was absolutely required - and bloody well deserved, too. I had never been to Turkey before so the prospect of exploring somewhere completely new was really exciting. We did the usual touristy stuff: mud baths, natural springs, turtle sanctuary, ancient ruins which are really impressive at the time but just look like a giant pile of rocks in the photos. That kinda stuff. But we also went a bit further afield and visited a very pretty gorge (as gorges go, so I'm told) and went water rafting which was really fun. I had such a lovely time, but back in cloudy England and due back to work tomorrow means lounging around the pool drinking iced coffee couldn't seem further away #sadface.

One thing I love about going on holiday is having an excuse to get dressed up for dinner every night. I bought this dress from ASOS shortly before going away - desperate to get as much use out of my student discount card as possible in the last remaining weeks before it expires foreverrrr. I can't find it on the website now, but it was a choice between this green or coral and I was completely torn. I asked twitter's opinion and when I didn't get a reply within ten seconds I decided to go for the green. I spent the rest of the evening randomly receiving "get coral" tweets. Whatever.

I would be well and truly depressed about being back from Turkey if I hadn't received a bit of an exciting email upon touching down at Gatwick last night. I Don't Give a Funk is an up-and-coming digital publication focused on raw and edgy fashion, music and culture. Their first issue is out this summer and I'm really excited to be part of it as one of their fashion writers! This magazine has a lot of ambition so it's going to be a lot of work - especially as I'm already working almost full-time, but I can't wait! You can follow IDGAF on twitter here to keep up to date.
