ELF Eyebrow Kit

When I was younger I fell victim to the awful fashion that, I think, many girls (and perhaps some boys...) fall victim to in their mid-teens: over-plucked eyebrows. I remember picking up a pair of tweezers one day and just plucking the heck out of my brows. It gets worse: I had that god-awful 'box' bit with a tail. I plucked one of my eyebrow's 'tail' so thin that it began to resemble a sperm ('sperm-brow', if you will). A little digging around on Bebo (remember that?!) perfectly demonstrates the severity of my situation: Here I am on my sixteenth birthday sporting the 'constantly surprised' look (FYI, I'm the non-pregnant one), and here the sperm-brow can be observed in its natural habitat: posing in front of the camera.

Thankfully I decided to grow them out when I was 17, but my left eyebrow never fully recovered from the ordeal. I once read that eyebrows should not be exactly identical like twins, but like sisters; just similar. Well my eyebrows are more like cousins twice removed, and I hate my left eyebrow.

Thankfully such a thing as makeup exists and thus no one need know about my sperm-brow, unless they read this of course. I have previously used Benefit's Brows A-Go-Go; a brow shaping kit containing the essential powder brow filler, and the wax too. Saying that I love this product is most definitely an understatement, but I certainly don't love the £26.50 price tag - especially as a student. So I decided to give the ELF Eyebrow Kit a try. At £3.75 it's a huge improvement price wise and although the kit doesn't contain as many products, it does the job! It took a little while to get used to the gel consistency after mainly only using the power before, but it's pretty good considering the price and comes neatly packaged in a little palette complete with a mirror, angled brush and a...er, not angled brush. It comes in a range of colours (I chose medium) and, although my eyebrows will probably never be sisters, this eyebrow kit has at least helped to make them brother and sister.

What are your favourite brow products? x

    1. I am useless without an eyebrow kit. If I were only allowed to use one cosmetic product on my face then it would definitely be the eyebrows (and then mascara). Thank you for your comment :) x

    1. I know, I wouldn't look at someone else and be like "WHOA YOU HAVE WEIRD EYEBROWS", but at the same time I think that's what everyone else thinks about mine (sans eyebrow kit). It's a big deal in my head! x

    1. My eyebrows weren't as bad as some peoples at my school, but when I look back at old pictures and then compare my eyebrows to how they are now I just laugh! So silly because I used to have nice thick eyebrows before I stupidly plucked them! Nevermind...x

    1. I love so many of the Benefit products, but I really can't afford it. The price of Brows A-Go-Go has gone up several times since I first started buying it too! x

  6. I've been using this eyebrow kit for some time now and I absolutely love it. I have stupid brows, they're straight and just won't grow in an arch, but this kit at least helps to make them look presentable:) x
